Before renovation, this Willow Glen home showed decades of wear, with outdated kitchen cabinets and sink, aging windows, and heavily worn walls and ceilings that no longer met the needs of a modern family.
The living room showed its age with a worn plaster finish, outdated windows, and a non-functioning fireplace that had long since lost both its beauty and usefulness
Once the exterior walls were removed, extensive hidden damage was uncovered. Years of moisture intrusion had caused significant rot and deterioration in the wooden framing, requiring large sections of the structure to be rebuilt before the renovation could move forward.
With the exterior opened up, structural issues in the foundation and framing became visible. Repairing and reinforcing these critical elements was necessary to ensure the home would be safe, stable, and ready for the full renovation ahead.
During demolition, the original flooring had to be completely removed after hidden rot and structural damage were discovered beneath it. Only the framing and a temporary wooden floor remained while the structure was repaired and prepared for rebuilding.
